Turkey Shoot Frequently Asked Questions
Our Goal?
We endeavor to have a safe, fun, family friendly event where everyone is participating on a level playing field. Whether you’re a grizzled marksman or a first-time shooter you have an equal chance of winning this contest.
What is a Turkey Shoot?
A shotgun challenge where participants shoot at a target (Not live animals!!) from a distance of 23 yards. The shooter with the pellet closest to the “X” in the middle of the target wins the prize.
How it works
The Turkey shoot is made up of a series of events and rounds. Up to 8 “events” consisting of 5 “rounds” will be shot each day. Each contestant is assigned a shooting line number (1-20), and each starting line number corresponds to a numbered target frame 23 yards away. As each event/round is called, the shooter will shoot 1 shot at their assigned position target. After each contestant has shot a round, the targets will be retrieved and reviewed. A new target will be put on the target frame and the shooter will continue in the same manner until all 5 rounds are completed for that event. The criteria for winning a round is to get a shot hole closer to the bullseye than any other contestant to win a round. (If there is a tie, the next closest etc.) A winner will be announced for each round’s targets have been reviewed. At the end of the turkey shoot; all the winners will be announced again, and prizes will be awarded.
Prizes
Prizes typically consist of various meat packages (Pork, poultry, Beef, Seafood) & Cash. The various prizes will be listed for the rounds on the day of the shoot.
